The dealer has had the bike for a week and the verdict at this time is that the noise is comming from the transmission. They are going to replace a part at a time until the noise goes away as opposed to swaping the entire unit out. I tnink this is going to get very ugly. Can you imagine how long this can take to track down if the part that is bad is not visible all "f" ed up. WTF is this about. For a split second i was thinking i was better of with the 06 dyna i traded for this bike. I just hope that this dosen't turn into a very bad exsperience with my dealer and HD. I will not mention what dealer this is but it is in south jersey.

I would noty tolerate that, might wanna mention the lemon law. Demand a new tranny be shipped to them
Toby, overall Bs' is a good dealer but you need to ride the services guys.
Story: My 06 FXSTDI has a stalling problem when 1st started. Bs' service tech advise me to ensure its warmed up before starting?
Huh?
Ride them until you are happy. Good luck.
How did you figure out that it was "B"s. I just had a long discussion with the service manager. I let him know i will not tolerate going into that trany more than once. If what ever they decide to do the first time does not fix this i will request a new trans. He also made it very clear that i always have the ultimate oppstion. I just hope like hell that i don't have to get in to that. I will get rid of the bike before it gets to that and they will be the ones to buy it. It will be a forced trade for the same thing just a different bike. I don't tolerate this with my cars and no F ing way will i with this bike. Going into week two i will keep you all posted. Buy the way there is another bike that is out there with the same problem. Does it have an owner or is it waiting? I will never tell.
Did i mention that this bike only has 2700 miles on it and it was purchased in aug
That sucks... I wouldnt stand for it.... Why do new car dealers do so much better fixing these issues and no BS.. we pay as much as most cars for these bikes!!!
Having spent a decade plus as a auto dealership tech, I can tell you "why" they want to do it this way. It's NOT the dealer calling the shots...it's H-D. They are experimenting on your tranny. I lost count of all the times I was told to do the exact same thing on motors and transmissions. [&:]
What they SHOULD do is, give you a new tranny and then let the factory folks PLAY with your old one!
