I know this subject has been brought up before but I am getting no help in the search. How well do wind deflectors stop head buffeting and does anyone have pictures of color matched fangs.
I just put the "fangs" on my Heritage about a month ago. Love them. Quality pieces, they have a solid feel, not light and flimsy. Bolted right up and had them on in about 15 minutes.
I noticed no obvious advantage in a crosswind, but headwinds and buffeting are noticably reduced. I didn't think I'd like them, but it sure makes the front end pop, especially with chrome lowers.
I installed fangs meant for a Heritage on my Deluxe. They bolted right up, only on the Deluxe you have to install them back to front (left one on the right and vice versa). They significantly reduced buffeting from the wind coming up from beneath my windshield to a negligible level. There are pics in my album, but I am afraid mine are chrome so look elsewhere for color matching. Not sure how they would look, but I bet black fangs would look good on a Fat Boy Low or a bike with black nacelle and cans.
i love my fangs. will not ride without them. windshield on or windshiled off...the headwind and buffetting are significantly reduced and the noise level also reduced. me and the old lady can have a normal conversation at 70mph. i painted mine black...to match my front end.
Yep, what they all said. I had memphis shades ones on my old dyna and they made quite a difference on that bike too. The wind coming up from underneath was even worse on the Dyna than my Heritage. The Heritage "fangs" look way better than the Memphis shades ones did on my Dyna. .
