One thing that might help...is that from all the high end aftermarkets, it would be great to see 'complete' series and not just a few pieces that match. One of the reasons why I personally am backing off...mixing and matching different companies bling, throws the bike off imo.

Again just my tastes.

As long as it's tasteful(which is subjective ofcourse) it's ok in my book.
A motorcycle is just a blank canvas anyway..
If you want one all customized, you buy a CVO if you don't want to spend the $ you do it yourself to what strikes your fancy.

Is it ever more easy with a Harley to get carried away. Bought my first Harley in 02/09 and as you can see from my RG I did get carried away. However, having said that I could not be happier with the way she turned out.

My soon to be Deluxe will get changed at a slower pace and I only want to make cahnges and additions that will give her the old school look. I haven't decided if I can come up with a paint theme/color that will be more old school than the black. It took me 2 years to hit on the paint job I wanted for the RG.

Big Red

Hondo your RG gots flow...keeping it red on gloss black minimizes the contrast for all the action going on.

Great job! This is sort of what I was talking about...I bet soon as you put chrome on or aftermarket logos all over it, it can be to much.

What makes you think you could put too much stuff on a bike?

Yeah this pisses me off too but in the end I decided to go with a finned theme to match the nostalgia vibe on the bike. I think it also goes nicely with the SoCal elements. I got a couple from Ness and a couple from Joker and Coventry but in a finned style they all look the same anyway.

Its hard to find stuff that isnt skulls, flames, spider webs or flaming skulls with spider webs on them...

A bike can be overdone no doubt but Chrome Whoreism is a disease thats hard to treat. My name is Motown Strag and I'm a chromaholic...

Sweet scooter Motown!! I am there with you, a true "chromeaholic" as well. They say its easier to treat once you admit it!! I have no logos or anything else on my chrome with the exception of the round breather I have on it and it just has the harley wings. I just got a round horn cover to put on it but it has nothing on it sooo, they truly do not match and that has to be fixed. I have been thinking of what would truly set all the chrome off, doing some research and I just got done sending an email to Metal Arts specialties, a plating company. There specialty? Gold plating. I seriously think the visors over the 4 blinkers, the visor over the spedo/tack, derby, point and inspection plate covers would look AWESOME plated setting off the chrome!! Will I go ahead and do it or come to my senses? I don't know, it's going to be a long winter!!

Its one of those things where you never know until you try it...I got a box of parts I look at before I buy something, **** I thought I needed until I bolted it on and said WTF was I thinking...looking at that box brings me to my senses. You can sell stuff but its pennies on the dollar in this game.

That being said, Ive seen gold pinstriping on this forum that I really liked so maybe it will work for you.
