So im looking into purchasing a pair of ride wright fat 50's for my bones. Iv emailed DR.TWIN a few times a long time ago and just when i was about to purchase some things came up and i could not purchase them. Anyways, originally i was going to get an 18''x5.5'' rear and 21x3.5 front. now im thinking that might be a bad idea....i want a front fender(i live in washington, rains all the time, but that doesnt stop me from riding) and also want to protect my engine from road debre. I HATE the stock front wheel,so now im thinkin 18''x3.5 front if that allows me to keep fender ...does anybody know any info on what size wheels and who manufacters the front fender on this bike:
That German bike has a custom made fender and an custom made chrome rod that will probably set you back heaps of $! You could send them an email through their "contact" button for more info, I'm sure they understand English.
The cheaper way is to extend the metal bit that holds the fender on on both sides, that way your fender will sit higher. You get the size wheel you want and then measure how much you have to extend it. You can also customize your actual fender if you still think it's too big towards the front.
Someone on here or on an other forum has done this, but I can't find the thread.
The bit you need to extend on left and right is the one I colored gray in the attachment.
cool, thanks both of you.looks like thats the new plan...extend the bracket. thanks for the diagram by the way. so now i need to figure out what size wheel. a 21 would like weird with a fender i think on a bones. i think the german one in the pic is probably and 18. ill propably go with that along with an 18inch rear...or do you guys think i should stick with the stock 17 in?? im not sure if i think both wheels the same size would look better or off set them making the front look a little bigger...that might look good too. any opinions, what do ya think?
There was a thread about a month ago where someone added .75" to the front fender legs to make it work with their 21". It looked great. Try doing a thread search for 21" rim on Crossbones.
