I have the BSS on my '11 Deluxe and love them. I only get flak from guys saying the usual "Why didn't you buy a Lo then?" stuff - but some of that is my fault for blacking out so many of my parts after I bought it.

That said, I'll end up with duals on mine someday, but the BSS kick butt and look great.

Samson does indeed sell any part of any exhaust system we make. Our warranty issues are much less than 1% of sales. If anyone needs anything for any bike as far as their exhaust is concerned we will do whatever it takes to make things right. We have been known to go outside the warranty period and take care of any issues. I was compelled to write this to set the record straight. Please give us a call for any reason whatsoever and we will do what it takes to make our customers happy.
Thank you,
JR

They are both top notch companies but the samson pipes in the link you provided are just too damn long IMO. You would have to be really careful everytime you backed up to a curb, plus they look funny. I vote for the V & H. You just can't go wrong with that pipe and the chrome is top notch.

I'm probably not going to be much help in your decision, but I have the V&H BSS setup and have no issues and love the sound. My next set will either be the Samsons duals or V&H LS.

It just depends on what look and style YOU are after, I think. They are probably both pretty equal in quality. One thing is for sure, you have a lot of great bikes on this forum to see what they all look like and you definitely won't go wrong with whichever you pick!

So I'm throwing a third pipe in the mix.

Think I'm liking the V&H duals, now that I found out I can get slash cut tips. I like them over the Samson only because of length. Think that's what I'm gonna go with.

Thanks

Decisions.. decisions huh kozy.
I hear ya bro, I'm runnin V&H on the Heritage and samsons on the Fatty. I like them both, they both look good of course.
The V&H are baffled, so they're not to loud for cruizin with the OL but still have a good sound to'em.
The samson's are the street sweepers and like alot of the samsons have that louder, deeper throaty sound.
Like I said I like'em both, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with the Samson's

Good luck wid it.

Samson does have pipes in many lengths. It all depends on what length you like and what type of sound you like as well.
Thanks,
JR

I have the BSS's and they are very loud to me. Even after working on that they are still loud. I would go with the Samson's.

Kozy,
The Samsons are a hair deeper and about equal volume with the baffles. Heard a set without and they are fu@king *******. I'm a fan of loud, though. You'll be filling your tank more often if you take 'em out, though.

If you are considering the V&H true duals now, I love mine. Just like I could always go higher with the apes, I could always go louder with the pipes, but I am very happy with the V&H. I get compliments on them all the time (looks & sound). Plus with the V&H, if you ever change your mind about the tips (straight cut, slash, or fishtail), you order a $60 set of tips and can replace them in 5 min with an alan wrench, not entirely new slip-ons.

So, with all that in mind, my vote is for the V&H Softail Duals. Don't go with the "quiet" baffles. The regular are loud, but DEFINITELY not too loud.

Good luck, man.
