I'd be really surprised if you can get a 2011 Fatboy or Fatboy Lo in California OTD for $16,000. OTD includes tax, registration, CA emissions, freight, setup and any other BS fees. The Stealers in Northern Ca so far don't come off MSRP.

if it means anything, the salesguy is a neighbor's friend,
the neighbor just bought a 2012 Road Glide Ultra for $22,700 OTD.
also I believe being in December help?? I guess??

I wonder if i buy a vance/hines exhaust..ABS...chrome wheels etc.. from the dealer that would help my negotiating power?

16K OTD for a 2011 leftover (non-black color) sounds like you would basically get a slight price reduction plus Cal emissions and freight for free. A bit more discount if it's a custom color.

From H-D website:
2011 FB with color option - $16,374 / custom color - $16,864
Cal emissions - $200
Freight - $335
Optional Security/ABS package - $1195

BTW- I'm 5'8 and ride a standard height 08 FB. My feet are flat on the ground and I'm pretty comfortable with the stock seat and bars. You could put on a FB lo seat or aftermarket if necessary to get your feet flat. Or just lower it.

I agree. The dealer here in SoCal that I bought from was asking $18,500 for my Lo. That included $800.00 in dealer fees. I had them take off the dealer fees and another couple hundred bucks. I was able to get the bike for $17,500. Just the California BS added about $500.00 to the price of the bike. $17,500 was about MSRP + Ca fees. I felt that was close to as good as I was going to get in this State. It was not worth my time for me to spend more time going back and forth for maybe a few hundred bucks.

Edit: This was on a 12 not an 11.

Just for comparisons,
I traded in my 2010 Denim Black Lo for a 2012 Denim Black Lo with ABS and alarm. (I really wanted the ABS brakes) The new stock 103 motor is in it also which helped make up my mind if it was worth it to me.
I paid $18,768.75 out the door. (No CA immissions though in NJ)
the 2yr. extended warranty w/ tire repair was extra.

I did get a break on taxes because when you trade in they don't tax you for the full amount of the new bike. Just the difference between the trade in value and the new bike value. BTW they gave me exactly what I owed on my 2010 Lo which was $13,700.

I saw they had it for sale in their used lot a week later for $15,500 and sold it within a month. it had 4,997 miles on it.

BTW, if you get it, have them turn on the (EITMS) It comes stock with it programmed to off.
It makes the rear cylinder shut off at a certain temp. while you are standing in that hot summer traffic. Which cuts down on the heat on your inner thighs. It kicks the rear cylinder back on as soon as you go to move and give it gas.
