Which hi flow air filter is the best for the money? I am happy with my factory cover so i guess I would just need the retrofit kit.

Screaming Eagle kit but install a K&N filter (lifetime warranty). The filter is pre-oiled, cleanable and you can re-oil it.

So you need an adapter kit and a new filter??

No, you can just replace the filter with a K&N if that is what you meant. I thought you wanted to replace the whole intake as well.

look for a off brand k and n same thing with half the price

Do you have any idea what name they are being sold under?


Also I want what would equate to a stage 1 upgrade.
I will need to buy an entire kit, not just the filter....

If all you want is a filter with the stock air box it is about $60 I think. but, if you are going to get a hi flow filter get a full kit with a new back plate so you can feel the full effects of it.

+1 on the Big Sucker.

One bit of advice, however; go with the chrome backing plate, just in case you want to change the cover at a later date, trust me.

If you want the stock look with the stock air filter cover but with the aftermarket performance, I went with the K&N RK 3909-1. It has a new baseplate, a bigger air filter and fits under the stock cover. Very easy to install.
If you go for the RK 3910 it is a bit wider and it will stick out more and might interfere with your right knee.
