I think the V&H are great if you don't plan on going with the fishtails. Their fishtail is just hideous looking IMO. Plus you'll save a couple hundred over the samson duals. If you do go fishtails then samson hands down is the better choice.
I own a Harley.... So looks to me is first!
Sound... Performance... Not much care...
Cost!!!!
I love the Samsons.... The v&h look good to me also!! I am a fishtail guy... And a broke guy..
I got 36" eBay fishtail slip ons... Used factory head pipes... Eventually I will get true dual headers...
If money weren't my object... 33 or 36 baffleless samsons would be on my bike..
As drew stated... Good analogy... Pipes are like your taste in women... We all have a certain type we like...more than others...
Samson's give a lot of choices and am finding myself browsing their product lots the last few days....must mean something.
2 pipes I am looking at now...
36" mini cholos
3" Rolled Edge.
The mini cholos without fishtail should flow with the small sweep on the new rear fender. But I sure love the sound of the 3" pipe...it's not as fat as the 4" and might look pretty good without bags.
I have seen a lot of people going between Samson and V&H for duals, but I know of a few that have Freedom Performance duals and like them, but I don't see them mentioned much on these threads.

This is what got me thinking duals and part time bagging as mentioned in the 'To bag or not to bag' thread. Pipes in the pic was pointed out as Freedom Performance.

Really like the Freedom Performance. They may have changed my mind on the true duals
