Ive narrowed it down to the Thunderheader 2into1 and the D&D Fatcat 2into1 for my Lo. Leaning toward the Thunderheader which i would wrap headers. However, between the two, which is quietest, and which works better on the Lo. Ive read some issues with clearence, so any opinions or experiences with both would be great. Thanks, Clint.
I just ordered a D&D Fatcat for my 2012 Lo from Dr. Vtwin on this forum. I haven't heard either exhaust yet but from what I've heard, the Fatcat with the quiet baffle is what you are looking for. It is what I ordered for mine.
Depends.. With the wrapped look, I'd go with the TH. But it is louder. Now, my opinion is a tad bit biased, I have a TH myself and really like it! One of the thing that mattered to me was power and torque. I asked a lot of tuners and engine guys what they liked, they all came back with TH & SuperTrapp. The D&D also weighs a ton compared to the TH.
I'm gonna tell ya right now that I don't know how low to the ground a FB Lo is but my Fat Cat grounds out everytime I take a hard right corner with the wife on the back. Now she's no Fatty but not exactly skinny either!!!l Lol

they make a fat cat for low clearence bike the only thing is the muffler is pointed up alittle i dont know if you like the look or not
The Thunder header does sit a little higher for ground clearance. The D&D can be ordered with 3 different baffles. The quiet is nice and throaty and not too quiet. Drop me a pm if you want a quote!
They are both great pipes. I have never run a TH but would love to try one at some point just for comparison sake. Everyone knows I love double d's. bassani is nice as well as the Rinehart 2 into 1. Tons of choices. If youa re looking for the quietest I always recommend the Supertrapp 2 into 1 which is also a great pipe. Between TH and D&D I'd say the TH is louder and the D&D has several baffle choices. The D&D is not LOUD per se but not quiet either. At idle is is pretty subdued, but when you get on it it will bark.

So your happy with the Thunderheader? I guess with the clearance issue of dragging the fatcat, the TH is the way to go.
