i just had 4 bolts seize on the fender struts, used the same technique as you, except now i will need to weld a nut onto the end of the shaft that remains....they wont budge at all..... When i replace these bolts i will use lots of copper anti seize, a 15 minute job turned into 4 hours !
Sorry to hear about your woes. The only thing that saved me was that I had the detachable luggage rack on there and there is a spacer. Once I got the head of the bolt off, I had 1" of shaft to grab onto. Had it been the stock strut bolts, Id be where you are. Ive never been able to make an easy out work. I was thinkin I might have had to drill the bolt out and get the hole retapped. I'll tell you one thing, those harley bolts are hard as a frign diamond. Took 4 drill bits to get the head off. Did you ever get your bolts out?
