Default Swingarm removal

2016 street glide.

I can't get the swingarm pivot bolt to loosen. Hold left side hex and loosen right side bolt. It spins slowly? 1/2 impact, spins slowly.

am I doing something wrong?

I guess this is a fight of who lets go 1st. Mine was not having it using the hex. Grabbed both bolts, 1 will break loose. The hex washer doesn't do diddly over the thread locker. Mine was the left bolt. It comes out the left so grabbed the exposed section of pivot shaft, after pulling the mount and bushing, with vice grips and the right came off. Pivot slid right out.

Hopefully, this helps someone.

If you remove the support bracket you can slide the donut, nut , spacer and shaft out assembled. You're a little screwed if the exhaust system is on and the nut on the right is stuck.. I've pulled the support of the other side and double nutted the free end to hold the shaft. Nut is 1/2 -20..

Are you supporting the weight of the trans? The slightest adjustment to your jack/support may make all the difference in taking the weight off the swingarm axle. I don't recall ever getting it out without using a suitable piece of wood and a mallet.

I have the engine pulled to the front with a ratchet strap around the upper jug and the steering neck. Getting the pivot bolt out was easy, getting the end bolts out was the issue. Grabbing the pivot bolt with vice grips held it enough to break loose the right bolt.
