Default Pulled the trigger on Big Bore kit finally

After hours of research including reading the bench manual, talking to mechanics and reading posts in forums I pulled the trigger on a 98 inch kit from GMR for my '01 Fatboy. They have a holiday special going on right now so they threw in lifters and a comectic gasket kit for free. I was really just trying to get up to 100/100. I believe with this rig I'll easily exceed that mark per my discussion with Steve @ GMR I should get around 107 hp/124 tq with a big flat TQ band. I also haven't and won't tell any of my riding buddies I'm doing it just because I want to see their faces when I blow by them like they are standing still I just hope none of them notice the compression releases before we get on the road. The riding season is pretty much done here so I've got about 3 months to get it all installed.

Here's the specs.
GMR Power Pack 2
10.5.1 Forged CP pistons with rings, clips and pins in black highlight or silver cylinders to match your current engine color
GMR 615/585 CAM
Head gaskets are included at no additional charge
Stage II CNC- (your existing) heads cut on 6 axis CNC
New guides tapered and diamond honed
New viton seals
New Ferrea 1.9 intake valve
New Manely 1.615 exhaust cut down to 1.575 ( that allows a 80% margin= great for flow) full radius valve job
Milled to CC needed for compression based on cam choice
New springs for up to 620 lift ( should you choose a larger cam later no need to replace springs) and set to correct seat pressure for the 37G
Machine and install compression release's
roller rockers
chrome moly 3/8 adjustable pushrods
I also ordered a D&D Fatcat

Forget the compression releases! The idle sound will change dramatically! If they know Harley performance, the'll know that it's not stock!

Good luck and have fun. I spoke with Steve @ GMR, and he knows what he is doing. You'll have great results!

I'll pull the trigger some day too...

Denis

My Bike has always sounded a little different than the guys I run with. The open long shots sound like a 60's muscle car especially on decel. I hope I can blame it on the new pipe .

About $3400.00 with the pipe. Steve cut me a killer deal on the pipe since I'm doing it all at the same time. I normally wouldn't have considered spending that much and didn't intend to in the beginning but it seemed to make sense after looking at the big picture. But I've decided to keep the Fatboy for quite awile. Even if I get a bagger down the road ( I really like the Road Glide).

Cams are a custom grind for GMR 615/585 gear drive.

When you grab a handful of throttle, I'd be hangin' on tight or you might be sittin' on the back fender. Good luck and be careful not to run into the back of one of your friends.

Ok I cannot express the jealousy adequately enough here! Dadgummit! [:'(]

That's awesome! Enjoy and congrats!

Just looking at your parts (I'm no mechanic at all)..
Is this just a top-end kit, no bottom end crank mods?
Or do you have to pull the engine and crack open the case?

Again.. Daaaang I'm jealous. My wife would skin me with a dull knife if I spent anywhere near that kind of cash on the scoot.
