Beach Bars with Stock Deluxe Riser?
I have searched around and cannot seem to find out if you can use an aftermarket beach bar (Burly, etc.) with the stock Deluxe riser and clamp. I have an '08 Deluxe and want to keep the riser and clamp stock, but want to switch out to a beach bar.
Any advice or photos?

My guess is that the stock bars are pretty high for a BB, not only will it make it strange looking, but cold also impact your riding comfort unless you are really tall.
The Stock riser also adds to the pull back if I am not mistaken which will also affect your comfort.
just my 2 cents.

1.5 inch risers are $35 on ebay and are two bolts. The hardest part is taking off the headlight tins if you have them.
You will also need to swap out the bushings because stock harley bushings are not chrome on top. There is a thread from NC Deluxe that has the part numbers.
Depending on what bars you choose you might be swapping cables and doing a wire extension too so if so you might as well go internal in the wiring.

As the others have already said, yes, you could use your stock risers (anything possible) but you really aren't going to want to. I think you'd find your controls sitting back around your hip pockets with the stock risers. As Motown said I have a thread that has many of the parts you'll need for the swap that can be found at the following link, Burly Beach Bars Installed
I spent a little more on the riser and cover, but also as already pointed out, you can find a much less expensive 1.5" riser setup to go with. I just felt if I was going to spend over a grand upgrading my bars (I upgraded all my controls to chrome etc), I'd shell out another benjamin to get a smooth cover because in the grand scheme it wasn't much more in the end.
Good luck with whichever you decide, but I'd strongly recommend swapping out the stock riser. And don't forget to post some pics when you get your install finished up.

I'm thinking of going with beach bars while my Deluxe is in storage for the winter. I really like what's possible as seen in the pictures, especially the internal wiring. NC, I had my doubts about leaving the bags on but your results put that to rest. Looks great! Using your set up, can I still use my HD quick detach windshield? I'll keep an eye on this thread. Thanks.
