Cons: It's a piggy back device. It needs to do multiple calculations upon receiving the information and transmitting it down the line. It may only take a fraction of a second, but there is a delay. The connectors have proven to be problematic for accumulating water in some applications rendering the bike un-ride able. If the PC takes a dump, then you risk riding a bike with bad timing or fuel delivery and can harm the motor.
The power commander sees the throttle position the same time as any
other electronics on the bike. It does not cause a delay as all it is doing is
shortening or lengthening the pulse to the injector. The start of the injector
pulse is passed through. Only the duration is modified. The PC is running in
microseconds where as the injector cycles in in milliseconds. It can handle
about 128 maps and still have the processing done to get the right injector
duration. Half the cylinders of a super sports and half the rpm the PC or PV
is idling on a Harley .................

Completely uneducated I bought the SEPST, I went in asking for SE slip ons and the Ventilator intake and the street tuner. I ended up buying the Ventilator, VH Big Shot Staggared and the SEPST. The street tuner (many people confuse the two) is garbage, it only has the ability to load pre-made maps, and at least that was one thing my dealer was right about. I bought the software and cables to hook it up to my bike and went about learning to use it. There is a very good thread dedicated to this and many other brands of tuners over in the tech section of this forum. All my dealer did was load a base map out of the menu, I read up on how to use it and tuned my bike on the street with the smart tune feature of the software. It ran much better than when I picked it up from the dealer. Later on I added SE 255 cams, went back in the software found a map for the new cams loaded it and ran the bike like that for over a year without fine tuning it with the smart tune feature. I found a local dyno tuner that was familiar with the SEPST and had him do a complete dyno tune on the bike and the bike has never ran better.

The next time I buy a bike I may go with a Power Vision, There is nothing wrong with the SEPST in my opinion. My reasoning would be that I'm very interested in Fuel Moto's product and that is the tuner that they use and support the most. My advice would be to figure out what your plans are as far as the cams and possible head work that you may do down the road. Then find a capable dyno tuner and talk to them about which tuner they prefer to work with. There are many good tuning products out there and I totally agree with the above posts about staying away from "piggy Back" tuners. It's not as much about the tuner(product) as it is the tuner(person)

Does your dealer actually do dyno tuning? Are they going to run it on a dyno and tune it, I guess I would like to know how this came up, are you having them do the work to your bike already and they suggested the tuner as part of the work? or are you buying the parts through them. Some dealers have dynos, some that have dynos actually have very capable dyno tuners however this is the exception not the norm. If you are doing the work yourself then I would get a hold of the Fuel Moto. They can send you a Power Vision with a map already loaded in it for your bike and they can also supply you with maps as you further mod your engine, this would cut down on expenses as a dyno tune would not be required every time you further mod your engine.
