It happened to me when I first bought mines. Since I have lowered it, and I am very conscience of scrapping anything. New 240 makes turning a new experience. Still trying to get use to turning without scrapping, or standing the bike straight up.

boards don't pivot on my 2007 springer classic.

how-ever I will put titanium bolts on the under side to help protect them , and of course spark a little.

Well-----better then holding my bick lighter to the pavement when I go around corners.

When I first started riding my Deluxe, I scraped the boards all the time. You will learn the limits quickly and really is no big deal. The pros outway the cons by a long shot. I switched with my buddy on his Dyna Low Rider, and I was happy to be back on my bike. (Not slamming the Dyna's) Its all in what your looking for. By the way, he felt the same saying he thought my bike was way more balanced and stable. His bike can lean way more then mine, but I can live with that all day long after switching. Love my Deluxe.

I bet they do fold, they are just over tightened.
It would be pretty dangerous if they didn't fold.

ORIGINAL: Raindog1217

Just wanted to get a concensus here from the Deluxe owners (or anyone one else who wants to chime in). I took the new Deluxe out today for a little ride and I went around an exit ramp (pretty good lean but nothing to write home about) that I have done a hundred times on my Sporty and I heard a sound completely new to me and then I realized that I was dragging the boards on the pavement. I am just wondering if this just really proves how little of a lean the Deluxe has and if anyone else does that on a regular basis. Believe me, I am not complaining nor am I one who likes to drag anything around curves. I just wanted to hear from those who have had the bike longer than me and thus more time on the road. Any other info about the bike I should know would be greatly appreciated to. I really am loving this bike and I cannot wait until Sprig rolls around. Today was what we call a "gift" day.
Thanks!
-Cheers!!

If you aren't scraping the boards, you are a mobile chicane around bends.I grind the boards, the muffler clamps as well as the mounting bolts on the frame for the mufflers
