Default Replacement windshield brackets

I am in the process of adding driving aux lamps to my 08 fatboy. One issue I need to address is the windshield mounting brackets. When I bought the windshield I did not think I would be installing the aux lights so I bought the one that is incompatible. It appears to me the the difference is in the attachment brackets bolted to the windshield, the way they are bent and the placement of the spring retainer.

So rather than buying a new shield, can I just pick up the different set of brackets? I cannot seem to find any indication this option is available.

Thanks much, Chris.

They should be able to. You will have to replace the brackets on the windshield and the mounting kit on the bike I know the brackets are almost 70 piece. I just went through something similar to what you are going through I need a 18" windshield(Without Aux. lights) with all black hardware but lo and behold HD doesn't make such a thing only have black in a 21" windshield but the parts counter was ale to get me part numbers and prices on all the braces and brackets to make the chrome 18" windshield black. Well the cost was way more than just a 18" windshield by itself so I know they can hook you up with what you need. (At a cost though).
