I wouldn't take 99% of the blame for that one. He is the pro and could have told you what he was doing, which was take 5 minutes and ruin your bib. He ran 6 straight lines of straight stitching over your bib with no regard to how it would look. He didn't even bother to stop at the edge of the whatever you call the border around the thing. I would be pissed.
Bibs in general always make me wonder what kind of damage is underneath.
+1...the only reason for a solo seat is for the look of more exposed fender...if you are going to put a "bib" on there might as well have a 2 up seat...is the paint damaged underneath?...get the fender repainted.

No kidding the paint is damaged underneath. For me, I don't take my passenger seat off just to show off 12 more inches of a fender. I do it just for a little overall cleaner profile and for something different for me. I go back and forth with the passenger pillion, but I am not going to get my fender painted everytime I want to take it off, hence the fender bib. It is a little more utilitarian than decorative, but since it's there it might as well look decent. But hey that's just me and not the "only reason."
Yeah I see what yer sayin Kozy it just looks like a bib that was stitched over, not like it was made to be that way. And anything thicker I think would just look like A bitch pad. No big deal man it was a good thought that just didn't work out the way ya thought it would.
I'm not a bib fan anyway. Have ya tried some chome flat head bolts to fill the holes for a cleaner look?
Just sayin.
Good luck wid it.
I can see in my mind where you were going with this.
Keep going with it. This stage didn't make it.
See if LePara can get you a matching section. If not.
Take out the stitching around the border.
Try to find a really thin batting, I think you would find it at a Fabric store.
Try in their quilting Dept. Put a section between the bib and new section of vinyl or leather and have your guy re-stitch it. this time make sure he knows to stop at the border.
Also when he stitches around the border to secure the top piece to the bib have him change to a black stitch.
That's kinda what's missing. Your seat has a pillow effect going and the bib will look flat with out the batting.
GL man.
