Read through the Dyno's for softtail thread. U'll learn a lot in there about what cam U like.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-softails.html

As far a keeping U motor road worthy with adding a cam, an Andew 21 or 26 will be great. even the 203's or 204's would be a lot better than Ur stockers.

Along with Crane's 300, HQ tc 500, Dave macky tc510, S&S 551's, woods 6, 555's or even the andrew 48.. all good bolt ins for low mid TQ.

U don't need head work and I would advise U getting a good fuel mgt system and tune.

Stiggy has a SE bike, which I guess ?? came with the SE 203 which are not far from the 26's and might be able get away without any additional tuning.
But U stock 88 doesn't have the 203 cam in it and IMO there will be a lot more difference in timing between the two. For that reason I'd say to get it tuned after the install.

If you do a high-flow AC, pipes and cams you have to at least do a download... the stock calibration can't accommodate the additional flow, at least not without running badly and hurting the motor. At least not that I know... certainly wouldn't try it myself just to find out!

Well, from what I know about flow I'd say it isn't real good. Notice the texture on the castings which collects the carbon. I know there has to be some mixture of polish and surface in order to get the fuel air mixture to atomize properly, but in looking through mine all I saw was rough surface. In comparing that to some of the photos of the beautiful work some of these porters do, it sure appears that these won't flow nearly as well.

I'd certainly expect a set of polished ports to have little surface area where the carbon can build up over time? I'd love to see some photos of worked heads after use, but I'd be willing to be they'd be much cleaner and clearer than these.
