Default Crossbones air cleaner

I am wanting to put a more attractive air cleaner on my 2008 crossbones, have tried a spike but its a bit off style. Anyone got any recommendations?

I tried a couple options, but ended up deciding that the HD smooth round cover ($44.00) looked the best and it matches the 1947 style....especially in chrome. I have one in chrome and one powder coated in gloss black.

The Kuryakyn mach 5 is sweet, You can mess around with it as well to give it different looks.

I'm kinda partial to the round one that came on the bike, but that's just me.
Have you looked at S&S?
They make one of their tear drop cover/intake setups to fit the newer EFI Twin Cam engines.
Its not cheap, what is on a Harley, but its a bit more 'old school' than the spike you had.
If you don't like the chrome there's no rule that says you can't either powder coat or paint it.
Maybe get someone to add a little pin striping to match the rest of the bike while your at it.
I'm guessing you have already had the ECM updated because you had a spike on it, so putting the S&S on should be just a bolt on proposition.

I'm also partial to the stock cover as it suits the "older style" of the bike. Plus I have never been one for gaudy spikes and other showy air cleaners. If I was going to go with something different I would look some of the cast breathers from Shadetree Fabrications. They make some different looking stuff that still suits the old school nature of the Bones. The only thing with their stuff is that it is pretty raw in nature and might not suit you if flashy and shiny is what you like.
