The OL gave me a blank check to fix up the bike. For all my prior bikes, I just road them the way I got them. This is the first one that Ive made mine. I got almost everything I want, next step is on the exhaust but that is where I get stuck. I would like to get a nice deep rumble. Since I frequently take long rides with the OL, I have to keep the passenger pegs. Any suggestions on what would look good? I only get one shot so I want to get it right the first time. I'm looking at slip-on's, also should I get some type of fuel manager?
I have the Rineharts True Duals. I do like the overall sound of the RTDs however sometimes I wish they were just a “little” tamer while twisting. I’m thinking on getting the BUB 7 Stealth’s down the road (if my OL ever allows it ). That said, if you want them louder than stock but not as loud as the Rineharts or some of the others you may want to check out the Stealth line.
When you say a nice deep rumble do you want it loud? If so V&H is a good way to go. I've had V&H BSS and BR. Both sounded very similar but the BSS were deeper from the factory. The BR were a little tinney so I put some Big City Thunder Baffles in the BR and that made them nice and deep.
I eventually went with the Fatcat due to my engine work and I haven't looked back. The Fatcat has a nice deep tone and unique sound that I like.
Sound is very subjective so listen to some different pipes to decide what you like.
