I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for Hot Toppers plastic caps. Although I have seen what appeared to be a similar product for much less $$ I cannot comment on the product itself because I haven't used it.

I used a Allen Head Chrome kit from Garder Wescott. I put this kit in by replacing them one at at time and had no issues other than the rust inside the allen heads and I didn't like that at all.

I wound up going with 12 point Stainless Steel Show Polished from Topline Fasteners and have never looked back. I was having engine work done anyway so it just made sense to replace the bolts will they were out. To me stainless is the way to go. Topline was s new company that I found on ebay. I called and spoke with Dan who got me what I needed. I have used them several times since then and have been treated well.

I use them and if you loose one or two they will send you new ones. someday I will change them to chrome 12 points I like the way they look better. If you have any chrome bolts after you install them use clear nail polish on the inside and you will not have a rust issue

The original owner of my 2005 SE Fat Boy put every hot topper that would fit on the bike.
I've had the bike 5-1/2 years and the hot toppers still look brand new.
A few years back when I was at the dealer there was another SE Fat Boy in there for service, so I could get a better idea what the bike looked like with or without the hot toppers. All the bolts on the other bike looked like s#it, with the built up corrosion.

+1 what karsten said. I used the hex head caps. You can find some sizes at your local hardware store cheap. I only covered bolts that were easily seen like the primary, timing cover, clutch. Before installing I take my finger nail or a small screw driver and spread the tangs a little so they fit tighter.

never used em before but i think they look great, i was planning on getting the cheaper ones off ebay. all u need is a dab of silicone for em, probably remove just as easy as the hot toppers and if they get dammaged they were not as expensive.

+1 to that! I went to Harley to buy them and the parts guy asked why I wanted plastic on my bike and then sold me chrome bolts for much less & they look great!!

I have either the HD metal or Hot toppers on most of the exposed bolts on my Rocker C.
I replaced a bunch of fasteners with polished stainless too.
Since my frame is blue, the exposed black cable ties have been replaced with blue.
It's in the details...
