I have a '05 Heritage FLSTCI and have been noticing what hopefully, isn't a big problem. For the last couple weeks when I first start up the Heritage and let her warm up I notice that the engine light will come back on for say a second or two and then go out again. It doesn't do it when riding...just at a initial start up.

I do wait for the engine light to go off at first before starting the bike which I was told to do (I am a newbie) but not sure why the engine light would come on after I start it up and then the light goes out again.

 

No thoughts???

 

A buddy of mine had the same issue with an 06 Night Train. Eventually the engine light would come on and stay on with no codes registering. The Harley dealer finally Re-flashed the ECM and that solved his problem.

 

I had the exact same thing happen on my 04 heritage. I took it to the dealer and it was happening because it had thrown a code. mine turned out to be a sensor gone bad (i dont remember wich one). anyway they replaced the sensor and reset the light, no more problems.

 

2004 Heritage...

Mine started coming on after I installed the SE pro fueler, IF I unplug the fueler light stays off but runs lean. saving for the PC.
