Default Air ride with onboard pump & comp.

Due to my bad hips I am going to have to put some rear air ride suspension on my scooter so that I can raise and lower the bike so that it is not so painful getting on, getting off, putting my feet down and up when stopping. Which is the best set up, best brand and why? I have been doing some reading and I don't see a whole lot of differance between brands so I guess the best place to go and to ask is here with those who have gone before me and now have it on thier bike's. I am not rich but I don't let price dictate what I buy and use. I prefer safety/quality 1st, period!

Shotgun. Better adjustments than others. Not just up and down. Close to like setting compression and rebound like a dirt bike but with 2 seperate toggle switches. Dont go cheap and buy a system something like airbags for a pickup where all you have is up and down. IMO. Ride quality is key. The cool factor is huge to rollin into your watering hole and dumping the air. Get alot of props. LOL

I still say custom cycle controls system (sas)compressor build into the shock block 3 wires no tubing all the same adjustment as the shot gun and easier to install, and cleaner when done

Charlie, are you running one of those? If the compressor burns up can it be switched out by the end user or do you have to send the whole thing back? Also would you happen to know what the warranty is?

I do like the idea of an all in one unit

I've had mine 5-6 years 0 problems!! if the compressor did have a problem, you would have to sent the whole unit in. 4 bolts unplug the harness a d its out. 20 minutes give or take. don't know what the given warr. is but the guys at cycle controls seem to guarantee satisfaction!! very good company , very good people. I have their handlebars as well. had a seal go bad on the brake cylinder they sent me a whole set (clutch and brake) for free, they're 7 years old!!! call and talk to them, thats free!! custom cycle controls in nevada

Sorry, but SAS doesn't compare to Shotgun. I was going to go with the SAS, but held out because of the cost. Fortunately for me, JD came up with the Shotgun Shock and it has been the best money I've spent on my bike, bar none.

SAS does NOT have independant height and damping controls - just checked the web site and the damping is *still* pre-set.

Shotgun lets you independently adjust the damping and the height. The compressor on the Shotgun is the most powerful in the industry, as are the actual shock mechanisms.

Look deeply into them both and you'll see which is the absolute best. Do some searches here and you'll see how many satisfied customers there are, and why.

Shotgun Shock is the best, period. Give JD a call and talk with him, and you'll see why. Great dude, the best support, and the best solution.

I have no stake in Shotgun... don't get paid, don't get comps, just am a total believer and satisfied customer. Tell JD tunaman said 'hey'.
