I guess I am wondering this, when you say that you are "Not feeling them", do you mean in an unsafe manner of riding, afraid of crashing, hard to control? or are you feeling like a dork riding around with your hands up in the air? If it's that your feeling unsafe I say do what ever you have to do to get back to feeling safe and comfortable again. If it's your feeling like a dork then I guess thats all on you and how long you wanna ride around feeling that way? I am still torn between trying them or not. One day I read they are the best thing since gold teeth and the very next day I read from guys who can't stand them! I guess it's just something everyone has to work out and find out on their own and come to their own conclusion!
More along the latter...feel like a goof riding around with my knuckles that high. That's all on me though for getting 'em on before trying apes. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who has them to try. I've read so many good reviews of the feel and back comfort too. Time will tell...it's just my first impression wasn't good as far as the feel and look and that was a pretty big let down after being so damn excited about picking the bike up.

I love the look but hate the ride.Uncomfortable as hell for me. Wait till ya get a 2-300 mile windy day in with your body being a kite. Not any fun to me.
I’ve never had a bike with apes so I can’t speak if they are comfortable or not. My observations: on some bikes the shorter apes actually look pretty nice. I think when they are “real high” and pushed forward they look a little weird and uncomfortable. Anyhow, I would never put them on the Limited because I think it would take away from the cold wind protection on my hands. Besides, I really don’t care for the way they look on the full dresser bikes. Now that I got that off my chest... If I were you I would give them a chance, sometimes you just have to get use to things. Just my 2 cents…
It took me a week or so to get used to them, after 8 years, I ride harder than I ever have and feel awkward on any bike that doesn't have them. It's true, hate em or love em, no in between.
