Trying to get my 99 softail out of storage and back on the road in the UK after a few years.
The stock rear wheel was showing signs of corrosion when i laid it up so i'm expecting to replace it, i never really liked it anyway as you cant get at it to give it a decent clean without loosing knuckles!
I fancy a solid fatboy style with whitewall tyres, anyone got any tips as to which part numbers I'm looking for on the wheel and what would be the largest tyre to fit on a standard FBoy wheel without cutting things about?
Probably been done thousands of times and I'm probably asking a dumbass question but cant seem to find anything on the forum.
A quick search will turn up a lot of info on wheel size and tire size. Not sure how many wheels you could find on ebay where you are but there are tons of them floating around over here. Do you have spokes now?
140 is about as big as you can go. Lots of Fatboy rears floating around ebay. Make sure it's 1999 and down unless you want to change out pulley, belt and rotor.

Yeah, standard spokes, but i've always found them a pain to keep shiny given the weather in the UK!
