Pre 00 rear wheel on 04 softail
Hi just joined here.
Its probably already come up some where but been searching with out luck..
I want to put a solid rear wheel on my 04 softail and wondering if pre 2000 model wheels will interchange with out too much hassle.
any help appreciated.

I would not even attempt the modification. Pre-2000 rims use 2 piece bearings. The centering rings on the rim are smaller than the inside diameters of your current Rotor and Pulley. If you purchased the proper size rotor and pulley there is no guarantee that they will line-up correctly once you mount the rim.

Different bearing styles as well. Solid rear wheels are pretty plentiful for your bike.

My 2 cents, I was running 2000 and up wheels on my 1997 Dyna. No issues, just use the wheel spacers for the bike, not the wheel.
But I also agree that the wheel you are looking for is probably easy to find on Ebay or the like.
