Default Which cam?

2009 Fat Boy
96"
Already did pipes, intake, PC v

Now I'm doing the 103" big bore upgrade and cams.

Based on some conversations it seems as if the Andrews 21 will add torque through the low and mid rpm range which is what im looking for, but my initial conversations were with the 96", not the 103"

My goal is exactly as described above.

A nice increase in torque in the low and mid rpm range

i dont want something thats going to add so much torque that its uncomfortable
to ride or will cause excessive wear to stock parts.

Will the Andrews 21 combined with the 103" give me what im looking for?

Seems a lot of guys like that setup. I have the 103 with the SE255. It's maybe not the best on the market, but it pulls pretty good down low. You'll even find that you can use 6th gear once in a while, lol. There's lots of threads on this topic if you try searching. Really seems to be hit or miss unless you can find someone that's tried a few different ones. I'm sure any touring cam wont leave you uncomfortable.

SE 204. I used them in my Fatboy with 95ci and am going to put them in my FLTRX with 103.

Do a search the 204 work really well in the 103 pull strong from the bottom to redline

The se 204's are great cams but if Ur going to use flattop pistons U better check them out,, might be to much static compression.

Actually I dont remember seeing any builds with BB kits using them in the Dyno threads in here, doesn't mean there aren't any though..

when U do a 103 kit with an increase of comp U can get away with a cam with a later intake close and more duration and still have a great low-mid TQ'er...

Best to talk to Ur builder and see what he's had good luck with..

in andrews the 21's, the 26's, 48's and 54's all work really good when the BB kit is installed.

But U also have quite a few others that work really good also..

As I said above,, Study the DYNO threads in the Softail and Tourning sections and see if U can find a sheet that has the TQ where U want it and then see what the build is.

When U build U motor,, all the parts have to work together to give U a good build. Take Ur time, study, asked several people who are builders and then make a wise choice.
