I would agree that the deflectors work and they don't look bad on a heritage. I was hoping some of these other shields would do the trick.
I ordered the fangs myself and plan to install them next weekend. I don't think they look too bad, either, but don't really care. At highway speeds for extended periods, the buffeting is a real distraction and impacts my vision. Like Mal74 said, it's probably the only added piece of HD chrome that actually serves a purpose.
I know that many people have this issue and one of the solutions I've found would be using the infamous "fangs" but with a clean front end on mine I just can't get myself to put those back on.
There are three different companies that offer somewhat of a solution (from what I've read). I'd just like some personal experiences from those of you that have tried these products and compare them to the Harley Shield
I think you read this in another thread... Tested the Long Ride universal shield and it works great. Use it rather then the HD detach. It can easily be removed. I was surprised how well the curved part works. The hardware is top notch, heavy duty. If you go to their Facebook page they have 30% off right now... If some one lives in the area they are welcome to try it.
Just installed them today, went out on the highway doing 75 for about 20 miles. I may as well weld them on, awesome! Didn't know how much buffeting I was getting until now. I bet I can go another 100 mi a day on road trips now.

I put a batwing on my lo last year and I really like it. I have one of those German style helmets and I get a little buffeting, but none when I'm wearing my 3/4 or FF.
I have used fangs with the HD shield and it helped but I took the fangs off when I installed the KW Billboard shield. I don't know what it is or how it works to alleviate the buffeting but it works. I did try it with the fangs on and it was real still, but I don't like anything blocking the wind from below as it has an effect on engine cooling. Being in South Florida I worry about heat. I'll toss the fangs on in the winter but that's only for a few weeks here.

I think the billboard shield is worth the price.
What height shield did you get? Do you look over it?

Which Long Ride universal shield is that? Think they offer three models.
Bought a set for my 2011 Heritage and will not fit unless I re-adjust the turn signals/aux lamps. I installed the lower bolt first but they hit up against the turn signal when trying to install the upper bolt.
