Default Dip stick blow out!

I have an 02 Fatboy with a SE 103 upgrade. Been great. Sunday, after fueling up when I started it, the oil dipstick blew out. It did it again later and twice yesterday. I run Amsoil and this is the first time it has done this. After it runs for a second or two the dipstick has vacuum type pressure and stays in place. Anyone know where I should start with this?

Mine used to leak a bit of oil at start-up. I replaced it and never had trouble since. Never heard of one actually shooting out though. Does it seem to fit tightly in place when you put it back on?

Have you changed your oil. Some bikes with to much oil will blow the stick out.
OR - Maybe the rubber seal on the stick has gotten to hard to seal tightly. I have replaced mine a couple of times because of not sealing

I've had mine blow out on me when I was wot banging gears. lucky for me a buddy saw it and turned back to get it. I figured I just built up to much oil pressure. I also did a oil change not to long before it happened. (only 2.5 qts. added) post up if you figure it out.

This happened to me a couple times when starting the bike after my last oil change. Oil level was fine, so it beats me why it happens. I wish I knew though.

theres really only a few mechanical things that can cause it.. overfull, clogged vent tubes, excessive blow by in the cyls.. and like others have stated, a old cap/stick that just doesn't hold anymore.

I have had mine blow out. I have a dipstick plug with temp on it. When my wider stock seat is on it stays in but when I ride with my bare bones seat it pops out. No cushion to keep it in place. I had kept the stock OEM dipstick and as long as its not too hot I keep it in since it has a tighter fit.

I agree, it can only be because of a few reasons. When you find out, post it so we all can benifit but until then, do you have a ACE HARDWARE or TRUE VALUE around you? I went to the one by me, an ACE store and they had all kinds of different size rubber O rings or gaskets. I bought a few of varying sizes and popped one on, the one that fit the most snug. It has not popped out since.
