Default worst luck ever!!!

it all started when i purchased a spoke wheel from a local shop. had it put on by them and took it for a spin. hit 75mph it goes into a death wobble. called the shop right then and took it back. they said they checked it out and nothing was wrong and that they rode it and no wobble. left shop and wobble was there. called back and they acted like i was a DA. Took it to another shop to have everything checked out. long story short the first shop did not space it right and bent swingarm in, wheel looks like an egg. it almost vibrated the bike off the lift it was so bad. Had to buy new wheel (went with crossbones rear wheel) new bearings and axle. With shop fees and new wheel + old wheel and first bike shop fees im into this thing almost 2 grand! first bike shop said they would give me 175.00 back because they know for a fact that there was nothing wrong with my bike even tho people behind me would back way off when it started the wobble because they thought i was going down. what should i do? sue?

Honestly I would have got it checked by the second shop the took it to the first to confirm the damaged part and leave them on the hook for the whole thing. Looks like your out the coin. Gunna be a he said she said if you fight. JMO.

Gonna be tough to prove anything, but you could talk/make threats about calling BBB on them if they don't make things right

This story is exactly why I do all my own work. If you want it done right, do it yourself.

Get documentation.

And talk to a lawyer. Too hard to say.....but sometimes a good lawyer with a good threat to sue/report to BBB will cause a shop to settle out of fear of a ruined relationship.

They may never admit to doing anything wrong. But they may offer you a refund (full or partial) if it keeps you quiet and keeps their name in the clear.

i took it to the first shop 2 different times about wobble. they said there was nothing wrong and that they test drove it (even tho it was flooding that day and there is no way they could have drove it) they kept saying it was fine. It was either take to a different shop or keep the wobble? when they spaced it or lack of they used way to small of spacer and just pulled swingarm. It just sucks all the way around. Im talking to a lawer next week i think and see what happens from there. I own a business and i know if me or one of my employee f-ed someones stuff up i would make it right in a second. Just pisses me off that some people think the can screw you and get away with it!

Lawyer will not take a small case. Would cost you more if he did. Best bet is small claims court. Depending upon where you live, claims can be filed for xxx dollers and you state your case to a judge

+ 1 on small claims court. Don't let them get away with screwing you. Post their shop name too so all can avoid them.
