I found this Tail Bagger on ebay and purchased it. I was wondering if anyone here has heard of it or used it? I was sold on the rubber vibration mounts and that it was a solid piece. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.
Kevin
Not sure on the Tail Bagger, It looks like the same as the Cycle Vision kit minus the rear stabilizer bar. I have the Cycle Vision Baggertail kit on my bike and it works nice with the FLH style bags.
That looks like the one made by Calvary (something like that). I have a friend that bought the same one. So I asked him about it when I started looking to gather the stuff up to put hard bags on mine. He said the Only complaint he had was when he got to going fast the bags kinda bounce around some because there is no center brace connecting the left and right sides together. He said he wouldn't buy it again because of that. Wishes he would have gotten the Cyclevisions Bagger Tail kit. Hope this helps.
I saw that one when I was looking but I went with the cycle visions. I had to have the crossover piece because my extended fender mounts to it. My bags and fender move as a unit so the 3/16" gap between the fender and bags stays constant. Give it a try and see how it works for ya. Just keep an eye and make sure the bags arent hitting your fender. I rode mine around several weeks before I took it in for paint to make sure I didnt have rubs. So far so good....except for that tight right hander I hit last week and scraped the bottom of my right bag.
Those do appear to be the cavalry mounts, which I have. I do recommend them. I live around some really crappy roads and have not had any issues. True they do not have the support across the back and will bounce a little but never had issue with it. I have had the bags loaded up and still no issue. I offered a low bid and they accepted so that helps with my decision (got them for under $200). The company is good to deal with as well. One got beat up pretty well in shipping and they replaced it for free. It was the shipping companies fault not how they wrapped and shipped them.
Thanks for the input guys, this helps. I should be receiving them in a few days and will let you guys know what I think. I'm mounting some hard leather RoadKing custom bags, which I also ordered and should be receiving them in the next few days. The crappy part is that I wanted them before the 23rd, since I was planning a road trip with my lady up the west coast of Florida. Oh well. Thanks once again.
Look at what I found on my front doorstep yesterday...If only that tail bagger would get here sooner, I could have my bike ready for Monday! Has anyone taken the RoadKing emblem off these style bags? If so, does it leave a mark?
