FAT is where it's AT. It's the only Harley-Davidson I liked (at the time) and I have not been disappointed. After two + years, if I could do it all over again, I would buy the exact same bike. You can leave it stock, take it old school, or make it a slammed hot rod. You can ride it to work or cross-country; solo or two-up. Awesome piece of work!

Default Fat Boy

I bought my bike wrecked real bad completely rebuilt it. I tried to make a Fat Boy out of a Night Train but it's still a train. Would love to trade for a stock FB.

well the fatboy sounds like a viable option. I will check it out and see what it feels like.

They also have a 2004 Heritage that I will look at as well but I think they have too much of that classic look fo rmy taste, but they are nice

Thumbs up

My 03 has 87,300+ miles on it. Has been very reliable with routine maintenance. I also have the 95" upgrade, stage 1 air and viper pipes. I really can't complain about a thing except I wish tires would last a little longer. In the summer it is my daily driver and is one of the things that makes work that much more enjoyable. Handles fine and I have to deal with Long Island NY drivers who seem to aim right at you. That is a great price to boot. Good luck. Chris

theres going to be a bit of a kick back on this , but to be honest after riding a couple of Dyna,s (i bought a Fat Bob) and a couple of soft tails including the new slim , i would buy a Dyna every day of the week ,
there faster than those old chuggers , corner better and in my case have very good brakes , and you can pick up a new one for just $2k more than that ol fat boy as well , then make it your own over time .....sorry Fat Boy,s .... but you know its the truth even if you wont admit it .....JMHO

After a 20 year break from the Harley world I jumped back in with a 06 fi fatboy. Absolutely love it. Test rode my buddies Dyna before & after test riding Fatboy -- bought the fatboy.

11000 seems high, but it's time of year. I would think closer to 9-9.5K for a carbed 04. I am not good with carbs, efi is so much easier, but cost more to manipulate. But, if I was good with carbs, then I would have a different opinion.
As far as why do you see a lot of Fattys for-sale, they are popular, thus a lot of them on the market.
A dyna vs softail debate is not a really a debate, apples and oranges.

My 2005 is pretty much stock, has EFI, but I believe it is pretty similar to the '04 as far as wheel and tire size, tranny, engine displacement, etc. I wouldn't trade it for anything; I did add a Mustang seat this year for passenger comfort (not in photos yet).
