regular powder coat-NO. you'll have to do something that can withstand the heat thermal ceramic or like others said, the high temp BBQ paint. i got mine thermal coated black and it has held up 100% for 4 years now. no discoloring, or flaking, and holds up against scratches too
i had them sent out to cradin industries and they charged around $200, i believe. they do great work. they'll also do pipe tattooing too, if you've ever heard of that. another good place is jet hot, but they are really expensive.
Another alternative would be Techline Coating's Black Satin (you have to apply it with a touch up paint spray gun).
I did my car's turbo hot side, exhaust manifold, and downpipe with it. It is holding on really well and whitstands very high temperatures.
They say that the curing is done while the pipe is heated up from running the engine but I didn't take any chances and cured mine in my home made oven that I had built for powdercoating.
