Read up on what Ur getting, seems like I remember in the yrs past some others in here have put in the 100/90 watt bulbs and burned up the wires and/or the headlight unit itself.
Just make sure the new bulb doesn't pull too many amps or get to hot inside Ur head lamp.
If you just want a halogen bulb that is plug and play, the best thing out there in my experience is the Osram Nightbreaker. Just do a search for it on google or something. It's WAY brighter than anything else out there and your bike will handle it just fine. It makes a Silverstar look like a candle.
I had a Silverstar Ultra and heard about the Nightbreakers and tried it. It was like night and day. I've also used the ZXE mentioned above and the Nightbreakers are better and brighter than those too. The ZXE is a "whiter" light, but the Nightbreakers put out WAY more light.
The Osram Nightbreaker is 90 percent more light, where the Silverstar Ultra is 50 percent brighter than stock.
If you want the best of both worlds get an HID kit.
Here's a pic of the packaging on the Osram Nightbreaker:
Just ordered it on Amazon for $34/pr delivered...hopefully it wont get too hot and burn up my wiring

You will be fine. At most they are 60/55 watts. I had them in my old bike for a long time and never had an issue. The issues come when people run bulbs that are 90-100 watts.
right on man, we will soon find out...bike goes to the shop monday afternoon and she'll be all done tuesday...will be nice to be able to see more than my front fender at night haha

Reviving an old thread.... Just ordered the Osram Nightbreaker, was $24 for two bulbs. Figured what the hell the stock light sucks and I really do not want to spend $300 + for a better light. They pull 60/55 watts (same as stock) so we will see.
I just recently changed out my Piaa Super Plasma GTX bulbs in my FLTR for the Primo Rivera LED bulbs. Fitting will be interesting as they are much deeper than H4 bulbs. I'll post pics when I get it all back together. I am running Truck Lites in both of my Softails and am extremely happy with them at night. They can be had for $165 online, but when it comes to the glide I had to go a different route...
