To me it sounds like dirty gas and carb. Bet that snap or pop was a carb backfire. If that bike sat for 3 years bet that gas is old and shitty. Hell the bike I just got sat only over winter and needed new plugs and gas in it. Good luck man and welcome aboard!

If it sat for a few years with gas in the tank and carb then it's going to need more than just fresh gas.

Check the battery with a volt meter.

If it turned over, it wouldn't be the security. When my security is on, my bike won't turn over. When you hit the start button, it just does nothing at all. I'd definitely look elsewhere, other than the security system.

Not sure what the problem could be other than issues with the bike sitting for so long. Probably a few minor things like old gas, plugs, etc. like mentioned above. If they didn't have it on a battery tender you might need a new battery also.

Congrats on the Night Train. Once you get past this issue you're going to love it!

ok... lemme back up... maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree with the whole security system thing, so i'll say, there is no spark... was using tester on it and before it took a dump, I believe there was power going to the coil but not from it...

and btw, thank you all for all of your help and suggestions and thank you for the welcome... I'm very excited about riding my new bike... currently have an older, like 89, dyna wide glide that I love but am really in love with my night train... are any of you in Arizona???
