I decided I wanted to black out some stuff on my bike as I don't really care for all the chrome the previous owner added. Bought some plastidip. This stuff is fantastic. It requires basically no prep and if you don't like it, it peels right off. It's not a 100% permanent thing but it should last a year or so and give you an idea of how things look blacked out. Its also extremely easy to apply and since it peels off, you really don't have to mask off stuff if you don't want to.
I'm hoping it will hold up longer but who knows. They make an adhesion promoter that might help out with longevity. If it turns out I really like the way it looks I will just get the console powder coated. The nice thing is its $6 a can and totally reversible.
I've never heard of that product before. That's an awesome idea! The gears are turning...
It looks great btw!
Same here! Cool getting to try things out to see how it looks first before really committing to it, or changing look of bike when you feel like it. I presume they have it in different colors too?
First you wife is gonna kill you if she sees any plastidip on her lace dollies! Dash does look sweet!
Second, I've plastidipped a bunch of stuff on my wife's truck and no whiteing or cracking. I also just did my rims on the Luxe and plan on doing the emblems as well.
