Let's not forget that many run V&H's here in the community...but out on the street, not many....well where I live.
V&H's sound great and loud. One thing I noticed, when I got my engine upgraded and Sert...the rumble smoothed out due to tune and was a bit quiet until I demanded it...then she was nice and loud again. Neighbors noticed the difference:P
I personally like Vance & Hines and have their pipes on all my bikes. The Big Shot Longs are loud if you want to go that route. Another option is to go with True Duals (without the fish tails). In my opinion, True Duals look good with the Saddlebags on a Deluxe. The True Duals are not as loud as the BSLs but definitely louder than stock. SJ Ron
I went with the quiet baffles, and for me they are perfect. They aren't obnoxious at idle and still give you some volume when you need it
+1 on the quiet baffles on the BSS. The standard baffles were too loud and raspy for me . . . If you change the a/c, you'll need a tuner or fuel management system. Otherwise, you'll run too lean and you'll get annoying decel pop. So it depends on what you're after: sound or performance -- or both. If the former, try a set of slip-ons from V&H or Rush and leave the a/c alone till later. If the latter, go full system with the a/c and a tuner.
D+d or bassani or thunder header if you want performance,.i have had v+h good pipes but to common ,and not as much hp..rinehart are a good loud pipe...my 2 cents...40 years riding
