Will fat front tire fit between FXSTS front forks ?
I have a 1990 FXSTS Springer with the stock (narrow) front tire and want to convert it to a wide front tire - without changing the front forks.
It looks like there is room if I were to remove the fender mounts and center the new rim with spacers. I might also have to go with a different brake caliper (unsure).
Question: Has anyone ever mounted a WIDE front rim & tire on a 1990 FXSTS (similar to a FLSTS) Heritage using the stock FX forks ?
Friend of mine has an 89 Softail standard with a fat front tire...all he had to change was the wheel spacers. Everything fit right in place minus the fender.
