Not sure what it could be but an "all of a sudden smoking engine" is not a good thing. I don't think I would be running it a whole lot until I got it figured out, IMHO! You did mention 65k though and that can be telling. Sure there are motors that have gone that long and longer but generally you are in the area of a new top end. That might sound drastic but with 65k thats what would be on my list to get done, especially if it all of a sudden started smoking. I would at least get a compression check on it A.S.A.P. and go from there. Valves and valve guides would be high and 2nd on my list to get done too. Now you have the perfect excuse to go BIG BORE!!!Turn what might be a negative into a positive!!.
Yea..Its pretty much stock if I do lil head work I will have to do more to carb,igniton and on and on.. I would love to do all that but dont know yet.. Will check compresson tomorrow.
