Default Fatbo, should I...

Found a sweet FB, 1999 chromed out, carlini bars, bags, windshield, just an overall great looker and decent price. My quiestion is, for around the same price I can easily find a newer one, but of course not quite as good on the extras. I would change out bars and have it painted whatever I get. My biggest concern is...99's are 1340's and then in 2000 they switched to 1450's, correct? If it wasn;t for the engine difference I would jump on it.
Suggestions?

We can't tell you if you can find a better deal unless you want to tell us what kind of a deal you got on this one

I could have had a twin cam for what I paid for my 95 fat boy. But the fat boy was set up like I liked and the TC was totaly stock with more miles. I got lucky and got the 95 with only about 17 thousand miles on it. The twin cam is a great engine but so was the Evo. FOr me I dont look at Twin cam bikes and wish I had them. I love my 95 evo. To me it is special and I have spent a lot of time, money, sweat and heart fixing it to the way it is now. I don't think I would trade her for anythinig. If I get another bike it very well might be a twin cam but I will always have the 95. The only thing that is a pain in the *** is that dealers are stocking less and less evo parts and they need to be special ordered and you have to wait a week to get it. I hate waiting. So that means if your on a long trip and your bike goes down and you have an evo you willl probably have to wait for the part to be shipped in.

Ha, good point! It is $15,700, 7'200 miles, chromed to the max (well pretty darn good!). The only thing I would do is add a custom paint job (a must for any bike I own) and possibnly switch out the Carlini drags for fat apes. This price seems to be average in my area. Actually, same year with more miles and way less extras go for maybe $500-1k less. Then again, can get an '02-'03 for close to the same with less.
I am going to my bank in a few hours, so that might just be my answer. I kina figure they will tell me to look for a newer bike.

The retail price on that bike is not too far out of line if the options are what you wnat and it is in good condition. Usually the options that have been added don't play too much into the price. Depends on how much you like the bike.
