Default So sick of my a$$ hurting on trips

I've made and read the posts, heard the suggestions .. it just seems so hard for me to buy a seat before testing it. And how the hell do i test a seat on a 2 hour ride? ha

1 tank of gas on highway (about 200mi) without stopping, and i feel like im sitting on steel rails or something. Not painful, just super uncomfy!

I have an 04 FLSTCI, all my friends are on Road Glides, none of them seem to have any issue. But they have also been riding 30yrs+, where im on my second year

So is my issue not enough miles on the saddle (im about 10k deep on my own), or am i just a fat sh*t and need a different seat for real?

My HD dealer has a "loaner" program for seats....take it home for a few days and test it out..you like it you buy it...pretty smart really.

Check your dealer to see if they do the same...

Stop wearing cotton underwear. Seriously, get compression shorts (walmart) like the kind you wear under shorts. Otherwise, its like blisters from wet socks.

Try one of these or look for a cheapo version on ebay:

I've been using one for two years and wouldn't go on a long trip without it.

200-300 mile days are not a problem with this Mustang seat.

There are as many answers as there are ***** That said, I researched the crap out of seats last year when I bought my 07 Heritage Softail. Previous ride (04 Shadow) I put on a mustang seat with back rest. LOVED IT. For the Softail, I eventually went with the Harley Signature seat with backrest. Although not quite as good as the Mustang, it made a significant difference from the OEM. I may eventually go back to the Mustang but for now this works. IMHO of course.
