Default Clay bar

I thought I would post this up for those who have never done it or know little or nothing about using a clay bar when doing your bikes. I have stated many times and I openly admit to not only being a chrome ***** but a clean freak as well or as bad, if not more so. I clay bared my bike after doing my Cadillac and what a differance it makes. My bike is an 06 but still only has 4800 miles and it still made a differance. You can also use a clay bar on glass and on chrome as well. For those out there with older bikes and bikes with many miles on them you might be surprised at how well it works. My bike looks like it was just rolled off of the assembly line, if not better. The paint it very deep and the chrome looks like it was just dipped. A good quality wax has to be used after one uses a clay bar but if you ever decide to do it, it would be well worth your time, if you are anything like me and is very pickey about how my bike looks as well as how it runs. You would also be surprised at what is stuck to your paint and chrome, even AFTER you have washed and waxed it. If anyone should decide to do it make SURE you use a clay lubricant when doing it. Notice how the clay bar glides over the paint AFTER you have done it and how the clay sticks to your paint and drags over your paint before you do it or when you 1st started on your bike. Your finish will feel like glass afterwards. I just thought I would throw this out there to those who are like me or have no experiance with using a clay bar on a painted surface and for those who think they might want to try it. Our bikes are HUGE investments so I thought I would pass this along to those interested or who may have thougth about it or who have never used this method before but who are game for trying it.
*edit* My Cadillac is nearly 35 years old with 27k on it, the paint and finish looks like I just drove it off of the showroom floor after using the clay bar on it! Well worth the time and effort on such an investment!!

I love the clay bar on my bike. Works really well. I probably hit it up every 4-6 weeks. Makes a huge difference to the touch, as well as looks!!!

+1 Wash the bike first, then clay it with this and follow up with a good wax. I use Turtle Wax ICE. Good stuff, and it makes my 10 year old bike's paint look new.

Discovered the clay bar last year.... FANTASTIC finish....

Had the house painted last year and my touring trailer, parked out back by the fence about 30' from the house, had a dusting of overspray... Was very bummed out

Clay Bar saved the day though. It took off all the overspray and the paint is as smooth as glass.

Since then I've done all three bikes, my two and the wifes. Very pleased with the results.
