I squeezed a 170-55-17 on a deuce wheel on my 93 softail. Getting the brake caliber in was one of the hardest parts lol. I had to put the wheel in without the rotor attached, slide the caliber in , then slide the rotor in, then slide the axle in. I changed to a 1" belt but now that it's assembled it looks like a 1.5 may have worked. some year I may get a 5.5" wide wheel an a 180 tire to try. I also hope to get a different rear brake set up where the caliber comes off the mounting bracket.

Did you put the 150 tire on the stock rim, or did you go to a larger rim? If you did use the stock rim, what size 150 tire did u go with. Looking to do this on my '93 FXSTS. Would love to see a pic also, if possible. Does the 150 look wider than the 130, even tho it is on the stock rim (assuming this is the case)?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Here is what I know... HD made the 130 up to 02. In 03' they moved to 150. I had a softail Fatboy. My partner had an 02 Fatboy. We looked at all the part numbers for the swingarm and pulley, etc... couldn't find a difference. Fender would fit plenty of space for it. BUT.......................guess what?

Harley machined the offset on the wheel. So it moved it over to the right so that the bigger tire would fit without rubbing belt. For some reason in 02 and below Harley machined the wheels to kind of sit to the left a bit in the fender. So in order for my buddy to get the 02 to fit the 150 without any major mods, he can buy an 03 wheel and it will be machined to fit the exact same swing arm...etc.. but it moves it more to the right so that you can fit a bigger tire without rubbing or getting a smaller belt, etc.

Glad I can share that limited knowledge with someone. If you are serious about it... I am sure it is the same or similar with the other softails on those years. These days, I am sure you can pick up a cheap rear wheel off an 03 and put the 150 and bolt on direct. That would be the most simple rather than messing with spacers and machining. If you go aftermarket wheels.. .well talk to the maker and you will be able to figure that out with them.

Hope this helps.
