stator rotor contact (spacer?)
I'm changing out my charging system on my 85 softail. I got a kit from V Twin. the rotor came with spacers, I used the appropriate spacers and the rotor has contact with stator. Do I need to keep shimming out the rotor? If I do that it will move my comp sprocket out. (Right?) The stock rotor has spacers built in and had a thin shim when I took it off. Is this trail and error, ad shim check take off rotor ad shim?

Tryin to figure out my eyes aint werkin or my mind isnt, maybe I get lucky and you just didnt explain it correctly. You took it apart and that should have been just as inportant those instructions ya readin on the new install. What do the instructions say as far as 'gap' goes?

I have no idea, I do know ther is a clearance. call them up and ask what they sent and what to make it werk. I was still at the shipyard I'd make it werk no doubt that, thinkin .008 minimum
