I installed a 70900070, combo speedo tach on my wifes 09 Heritage, It hooked up real easy and worked great for first couple of months, now it intermittently does nothing, usually after we have been out a while, stop and leave bikes for a bit, come back, start up and nothing, no lights, no speedo, no tach, nothing. If she stops, turns bike all the way off and leave for just a minute it so far has always come back to life, I have checked all connections and I am running into a dead end at local dealer, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

 

I'd take it back to the dealer. I've had mine for over a year and have had no trouble with it at all.

Didn't see that, you did take it back, sorry.

The only other thing I can think to try would be silicon in the connectors. Once I got water in the connector when I got a new tank and had a problem like that, but my gauge has been flawless.

 

Have ya had any luck ? I put one in my RKC in march worked great first 2k miles this weekend on a 1200 mile trip the back lights went out and back on and out . works great sitting still and might work 200 miles then shut off again ..

I got to take it apart and check connections it hasnt been in the rain ..

 

Still no luck, cleaned all connections and added di-electric grease, now sometime the tach will work and not the speedo, or nothing and sometimes everything is good, I'm afraid I might have a bad one.
