Man, I hope this isnt too stupid of a question. Being new to HD, I just want to make sure.
On my Goldwings, there was no vib's in the floorboards. This new to me 98 Heritage as some strong vibs (while riding) in the floorboards. They got real heavy when I hit 80-85mph, so much so, I backed it back down to 70mph, where it didnt feel quite as bad. I know these motors shake, and I expected some of the vibes, but I wasnt sure if that real heavy vib was a sign of a problem or not. I only feel the vibs in the floorboards, not the handbars nor the seat.
Mine vibrates also...but it never really showed up till I changed out the stock exhaust. Unless I missed something during the install, the exhaust is ridged mounted to the frame...which in turn has the floorboards mounted to it, and IMO that is where most of the vibration comes from.
My fatboy has vibration as well. I bought the kuryakyn (sp) IS0 floorboards and have been very happy with them. The rubber isolates well. There are alot of floorboards that claim to reduce vibrations, just check around.
