??? for you guys who have purchased new batteries for your bikes....

How much life do you usually get out of your batteries???
Just curious...
Got a new battery this winter for my 07 Fatboy, not because it was bad...........needed room under the seat for electronic so I got a smaller size (same power) now it starts my riding lawnmower! So 5+ years, LOL. I also use a battery tender.

My 05 still has the original battery. Still spins the motor just fine.

This will be highly variable. Some will have a continual trickle load due to the ECM. Some will have their kickstand grounded without separating it from the concrete. These two separate or together take charge off the bike overnight. Not enough that you would notice but enough to affect the life of the battery because the first thing you do is hit it with the highest load it gets after it sat there and gave up some of its juice.

Multiple short trippers will wear out a battery faster. Very cold and very hot weather wears out a battery.

I had someone tell me that they replace theirs every 3 years whether they need it or not. Both of mine on my '06 have gone for exactly 3-1/2 years. When you have an ECM, a low battery will stop everything on the bike, not just the cranking. Not like the old days when a Shovel had both a kickstart and an electric start. At least you didn't get stranded that way unless you continued to ignore the weak battery.
