4 years usually although my last one was 5 years old and still going strong, decided to change it to be on the safe side, I have heard of battery's going flat after around a year it's the luck of the draw and how much the bike is being used, generally the more you use them the longer they last.
Well i guess then ... 3 1/2 yrs. does sound a little short. This was my original HD battery...
On another note.... Doesn't "HD" stand for $$$ "H"undred "D"ollars... then why do they charge freaking $140.00+tax dollars for a damm battery?... lol... Ended up going to my local auto parts store and did get one for $100.00... same 1yr. warranty that HD provides for their batteries.

It does but, luck of the draw does seem to apply when talking batteries. Temperature, frequence of usage, charging system and many other things are also an influence. It does look like they're not on "managers special" over where you live either.
My Deluxe is a 2006 and it just turned 4800 miles. I still have the original battery in it. I have just had it tested as well figuring I have to be getting close and don't want to walk out of a bar some night or get off of work in the morning and have no juice. It tested out like it was a new battery. I guess now that I bragged on its life I will have a dead battery when least expected! Isn't that how it always goes? P.S., I also always leave it on a tender too.
