Default Battery Life?

I just recently purchased a new battery for my bike..... It lasted about 3 1/2 yrs.

I also have had my bike on a battery tender when its not in use.

??? for you guys who have purchased new batteries for your bikes....

How much life do you usually get out of your batteries???
Just curious...

3 1/2 years on mine. No tender just stored with bike during winter. Seems to still be working fine.

4 years usually although my last one was 5 years old and still going strong, decided to change it to be on the safe side, I have heard of battery's going flat after around a year it's the luck of the draw and how much the bike is being used, generally the more you use them the longer they last.

5 years since I bought the Ultra (new). Seems to be as good as when new. Always on tender when longer than two weeks out of action.

Well i guess then ... 3 1/2 yrs. does sound a little short. This was my original HD battery...

On another note.... Doesn't "HD" stand for $$$ "H"undred "D"ollars... then why do they charge freaking $140.00+tax dollars for a damm battery?... lol... Ended up going to my local auto parts store and did get one for $100.00... same 1yr. warranty that HD provides for their batteries.

It does but, luck of the draw does seem to apply when talking batteries. Temperature, frequence of usage, charging system and many other things are also an influence. It does look like they're not on "managers special" over where you live either.

Yep bought my bike bone stock NEW... 3 miles on it... 15,000 +/- miles on it now

Good one!.... lol....

Yep kinda strange they charge more for a motorcycle battery than a car battery ... I guess less is more.

I'm on 4-years with the current battery bought from the dealer. A sealed unit for $109. I use a BatteryMinder Plus on it during the winter

My Deluxe is a 2006 and it just turned 4800 miles. I still have the original battery in it. I have just had it tested as well figuring I have to be getting close and don't want to walk out of a bar some night or get off of work in the morning and have no juice. It tested out like it was a new battery. I guess now that I bragged on its life I will have a dead battery when least expected! Isn't that how it always goes? P.S., I also always leave it on a tender too.
