My buddy's boss is selling a 2003 Springer Classic (Black and Silver) with low miles. The thought crossed by mind that I may sell my 06 and pick up the springer if the price is right. I would swap my shot gun, wheels, and any other parts that would transfer and fit the new theme. Other stuff I would sell. I'm just thinkin out loud and probably bored because I'm not home and can't ride, lol.
I'd stick with your bike. If you really want a spring just add it to your bike and prob. Save some coin. Cant see spending more money on an older bike.
Warg, your bike is bad ***...plenty of springer kits out there, just bolt one up.
I wouldnt trade a softie for anything less than an SG but thats just me and even then I would keep what I got if I could.
I love the look of Springers but they don't brake, handle or ride as well as the standard FL front fork. But that may not factor into your decision. Other factors...the 2006 bikes have better flowing heads. The older Twin Cams are prone to cam tensioner failure. Newer tensioner chains were smoother and did not exhibit the fast wear. The newer bikes have a better headlight. There are probably other small improvements I am forgetting but each year they tend to fix small issues. Things to keep in mind.

Actually, the handling is one of the things I'm most hesitant about. I'd have to test ride it first, but I do love the Fatty so it will take some thought. I could just wait 5 years and buy a new bike for my 40th birthday, LOL!
