Default Rocker front end drop

I have been reading threads on Rockers and have noticed people talking about buying spring kits to drop the front of their bike two inches. It looks like most of the bikes that have been dropped have gone up to a 21 inch tire. Is the purpose of the drop related to ride comfort or related to leveling out the frame rail? If it is to level out the frame rail couldn't the same thing be accomplished by adding raked trees? I would be going for more of a chopper look to begin with so couldn't raked trees kill two birds with one stone?

I did exactly what you are saying with 4 degree wide glide trees to drop the front 2" to level out the rear with a 1" drop

To lower the rear you can either use lowering bolts or adjustable shocks like Progressive 422s, or of course air suspension like Shotgun

Dropping the front or the rear is done mostly for looks or to compensate for taller tires but if you can improve the handling by doing so then you have hit the jackpot.

I just read your list of parts under your bike and realized that those were bitching trees that you used. Do you know anyone that has used a bitching two up seat? Looking at their web site it looks like you have to have a fender support bracket added on each side. I am just wondering how the ride is for the passenger. Seems like it would be jolt from hell to the passenger if the bike hit a bad bump. Are you running a 110 or 120 front tire?

From what I've read, it seems as tho the back fender sees forces of at least 3gs so basically your passenger is riding a full out rigid.

I'm running a 120 up front & a 250 rear.

I think Bitchin' 2up set up would not be too enjoyable for the passenger, or not if you like carnival rides. LOL
